| Specialized attendant care services are provided in hospitals,
residential facilities and within the community to persons who
may require attendant care support in combination with basic
behavioural and executive functioning support.
Cost Benefits
Services are provided on an hourly rate and the following financial issues are of benefit to hospital and community programs:
- Last minute service requests are billed at regular rates, rather than emergency rates
- Within hospitals and residential facilities, last minute cancellations are fully honoured without charging a cancellation fee
- In some unique cases of providing minimal attendant support, two-on-one services to clients can be provided at no extra cost to the funding source
Specialized attendants possess the following qualifications:
- Health Care Aid or Personal Support Worker Certificate
- Experience supporting children and adults living with a Traumatic Brain Injury
- 5 years experience assisting persons with cognitive and behavioural deficits
- Relevant CPR and non-violent crisis intervention certificates
- Legal safety and security screening
- Professional Liability Insurance
- Are culturally diverse and speak various languages.
All services are client specific and are implemented at the direction of the medical staff and/or treatment team.
